The Paranoid Survival Guide to the 2020s
Paranoid Echo Chamber is here to help you survive and live well. With the upcoming election, climate crisis, global political trends it’s very easy to become overwhelmed by the news and state of the world. This is exactly where the multi-national conglomerates want you to be, a scared consumer that reacts to their signals. How do you survive in a world that is seemingly stacked against you? Let your paranoia be your survival guide.
In order to survive the new world we’re moving into there are some crucial elements to keep in mind. You have to step outside of the system that is designed to poison your body and mind. The list of things that you need to avoid is too long to list but we at Paranoid Echo Chamber have found a convenient way to list them. The important categories are health, wellness and mindset.
Like most things today, health has become a confusing landscape dominated by ideology. There is so much conflicting information one way or another that it’s almost impossible to sort through the truth. You must fall back on your god given paranoia to help you navigate through the maelstrom of information. Health is a broad term that covers your basic biological functioning, both mind and body.
If you suspect that the reason following modern health advice is misleading and confusing, your paranoia has steered you right. Paranoid Echo Chamber will help you filter out what’s important and what’s bullshit. In order to wade through the bullshit lies you have to strip away back to the basics. The human body is vastly complex but there are some simple input-output structures that remain constant.
Stop listening to idiots, use paranoia as a guide.
The level of idiots on the internet and media is staggering. They’ll keep telling you to be afraid about one thing or another until you’re terrified. The earth is burning, the Russians are going to kill us, everything is bad so lay down and die. These assholes and idiots are trying to kill your mind to make you weak, so stop listening to them.
Weigh whatever these morons tell you with your actual real life. Does politics make any real difference in your life? Only concern yourself with things that will effect your life. Everything else is noise. Who cares about what these assholes say if all they want to do is scare you?
Assume every bit of politics, media and news is bullshit for you and use your paranoia as your guide. If it smells like bullshit, it is. There are good people out there, but their voices are drowned out by the assholes. Use your god given paranoia as your friend, not your enemy.
Live up to your own expectations, not others.
It’s very tempting to want to give up on life and be buried under expectations of others. Does it really matter if you make a million dollars if you only just want to have a good life? These lying assholes that convince you that you have to start a business, buy their product, “slay all day” are full of shit.
You will be paralyzed sitting around doing nothing if you’re trying to live up to unrealistic bullshit. You can decide what you want out of life and figure out how to get it. That doesn’t mean having a perfect life, it just means having a better life. This notion that you have to be like everyone else is robbing you of your wellbeing.
If people in your life are trying to convince you to be a certain way that you know you don’t want to be, fuck em. View anyone or anything in your life that’s pushing you to be something you’re not as mental poison. You can’t get anything done if you’re being poisoned, so forgive yourself and cut them out. Your parents, your friends, your favorite internet celebrity can’t tell you how to live your life. Only you can.
You’re going to die, so try to enjoy your life.
It’s far too easy to get caught up in trends, media spin, and idiots who talk online. You’re going to die, maybe sooner than you think, so focus on things that make you happy today and down the road. You might be stuck in a miserable life right now, and that’s OK. It’s OK to say your life sucks, because a lot of people’s lives suck.
The temptation is to take your personal power out of the situation and blame your external environment. Don’t do that, if you like watching action movies enjoy a nice action movie. If scrolling social media makes you feel like shit, don’t do it. It’s easier than you think to increase good things and cut out bad things if you think about it. It takes work, it might not happen immediately but over time you could just be happy.
If sitting around smoking weed playing video games is really all you want out of life, that’s OK. Figure out a plan where you can get away with doing that while taking care of your needs and live happily. As long as you’re realistic about what you want out of life, go ahead and enjoy your life. Figure out a way to make whatever it is you’re into work for you and live the best life possible. Don’t just give up in despair, don’t settle for less and drown out all the people who make you feel bad about yourself.
Forgive yourself and focus on what you can realistically change.
Too much is made out of living up to unrealistic expectations. You might never buy a house, might never find “the love of your life”, never buy a jet ski — so what? Are you going to sit around feeling like shit because you can’t get everything you want? Or are you going to take what’s in front of you and make the best with what you’ve got. There’s a difference between real goals and unrealistic wants, focus on the real goals and figure out how to achieve them.
Too many people are crushed by their goals and expectations. They can’t accept their lives and that makes them powerless to change their circumstances. The sooner you forget your bullshit fantasies and see your life for what it really is the happier you’ll be. Motivational assholes telling you to conquer your world, be everything you can be aren’t telling the truth.
The vast majority of people will not lead incredible lives of conquest. So what, who the hell cares? Do you want to be happy or not? You can go out and achieve what you want in life, but be realistic about what’s really possible. Maybe the best version of life you can live is just a little better. Perfectionism is a great way to miss out on everything that’s in front of you. Your life doesn’t have to be perfect, just better.
Vegetables are good for you.
This may come as a slap in the face to most people, almost everyone hates vegetables but keep in mind that’s just programming. If you eat a proper diet you may one day come to a place where you will look forward to eating them. Too much of our diet is compromised of pleasure based foods and food-like substances, as those are more addictive and easiest to market.
Eat your vegetables and learn to make them taste good so you will want to eat them. Once you cut out the other garbage you will find that they taste much better. Whatever flavor of dietary religion you subscribe to, this should be a constant. You can pick and choose which ones are best for you but in essence: if it has nutrients and you can figure a way to eat it — do it and don’t look back.
Stop eating products, eat actual food.
This may be upsetting to you as you’re addicted to processed crap, but if you want to live with suboptimal health and die a premature death no one is stopping you. This may be a little more confusing to most but there is a simple guide — read the ingredients. If it was made in a laboratory, don’t eat it. There are too many garbage chemicals that make processed food, and not all are created equally. If it comes in a box, or package don’t eat it.
If you have no idea what an ingredient is, if it sounds like a chemical, you don’t need it. Not all chemicals are bad, eating food with some preservatives is better than eating rotten food. If you want to survive you’re better off not eating syrups, oils, sweeteners, and anything you couldn’t make yourself. Canola oil, vegetable oil, high fructose corn syrup, and other garbage you could never make is going to kill you faster.
Death isn’t the worst thing in the world though. If you’d rather keep drinking soda, eating cheetos and dying a little faster each day then go ahead and skip down to other ways to help survive. You will have to ween yourself off of the addicting garbage if you’re a full addict. You will survive if you read Paranoid Echo Chamber.
Get moving, however you can.
Modern exercise advice is intimidating and complicated. It’s no wonder that nobody wants to start exercising, because they’ve been given bad advice. Walking for 5 minutes a day is better than not walking at all. Doing 2 push ups or hanging on a pull up bar is better than nothing. Stop listening to idiotic workout routines that you could never do, and listen to Paranoid Echo Chamber.
Get up off your ass and do a couple of things each day. You don’t have to kill yourself to get the ball rolling. If you only workout until you’re red in the face and vomiting, you’re not going to do it. Stop listening to the morons that only want your money, do what works for you and keep moving.
Just do your best.
This is a lot of information, and if you’ve made it through bravo. It might be more than you can handle, that’s OK. Maybe you just cut back to 3 sodas a day instead of 6. Maybe you just take one short walk around the block. Care about what other people’s opinions only a little less. Making the first step is the hardest part and if you’re making any progress at all you’re winning.
If you can just see the problem for what it is and make even a 10 year plan to improve maybe you’ll get there. If you beat yourself up for not changing over night you’ll give up. Just do your best and stop making excuses. Stop blaming other people and stop blaming yourself. You are the way you are because of the environment you were developed in.
All you have to do is stay paranoid, realize what you’ve got to work towards and figure out a way to do it that works for you and read paranoid echo chamber.
